Life without a phone. How did I do this back in the day?

Im in the Gulf of Mexico and 5 days ago I was leaning over a handrail and dropped my $1200 IPHONE 12 max pro into the Gulf of Mexico. Bought the thing in November and warranty does not cover this. Geez. Im going to be out here at least another 10 days. So im going to have to suffer from this till I get home.
This is probably my first post at therx in 5 years on a computer.
Its miserable. lol
How did life exist before smart phones?
I actually have to call people on a regular telephone now. LOL
I have to watch the screen on the bottom of ESPN News to check scores again only to get pissed they go to commercials right before they give me the score im looking for.

How did we do this?

I dont have a laptop in my room out here just a tv and a regular telephone.
I do have internet access during the day but its not very easy to down to the office at night.

My doge coin is going through the roof I see. I have no way to sell it before it crashes because all my keys and everything and wallets is on my phone.

Warranty doesn't cover you dropping it into the water? That's like the #1 way people ruin phones.

I don't get the warranty as it is a -EV sucker bet but if you got it how doesn't it cover that?

Never buy any kind of extended warranty but it came with a 1 year warranty.
I have no idea if an extended warranty covers dropping a phone in the water or not.

I can understand why it would not.
Whats to keep someone from saying they lost a phone in the water a day before the warranty runs out and getting a new phone?
